About
Mrs. Hannigan
I’m so glad you’re here!
I’ve always loved stories. As a little girl, you could usually find me with my nose in a book, and not much has changed. Today, I get the joy of helping students discover that reading and writing aren’t just school subjects, they’re tools that help us understand the world, think deeply, and communicate with confidence.
Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a mental health counselor. Since 2018, I’ve had the privilege of homeschooling my four children, which taught me that every student learns differently and that relationships are truly the heart of education.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida and my master’s degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I’m also the author of Inconvenient Parenting, where I encourage parents to see the unique ways God is shaping their children.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me reading a novel, writing in my journal, homeschooling my girls, or on an adventure with John, and our three daughters (probably at Disney riding rides and eating all the snacks).
Whether you’re a student or a parent, I hope you’ll find my classroom a place where curiosity is welcomed, hard work is celebrated, and every student is encouraged to grow, not just academically, but in character.
I’m looking forward to a wonderful year together!
